Part 17 – Much Is Expected of the Rich.

Part 17 – What It Means To Prepare for the 2nd Coming of Our Lord & Savior, Jesus

Asked whether or not a person prefers to be blessed by God, surely he or she will want to be blessed. Unfortunately, the worldly standards of most people would be towards being uplifted as a rich person with many friends until death. The EGO oftentimes needs great satisfaction. Choose then whether to be blessed or be cursed. To be blessed means

Matthew 5:1-11
The Beatitudes
2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

The trouble with being rich is usually the responsibility to be generous and having to be more accountable for more things. Many “things of the world” can weigh down health, shorten lifespan, and expose the rich to lots of opportunities to engage in pleasures, temptations, and finally a sinful life on Earth. The difficulty is in obeying the 2nd greatest commandment which is to love your neighbor as yourself. God has many works for those who are very energetic and with the means to get things done.

Luke 12:48 International Standard Version (ISV)
“48 But the servant who did things that deserved a beating without knowing it will receive a light beating. Much will be required from everyone to whom much has been given. But even more will be demanded from the one to whom much has been entrusted.”
