Part 18 – What It Means To Prepare for the 2nd Coming of Our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ
The plan of God to have each believer study His Words in the bible might appear antiquated to people who think the bible only concerns the past civilizations or generations. A more open mind would realize God speaks to people in the present through those Words of Wisdom IF Man takes the time and effort to reflect and meditate on what God teaches. Perhaps the missing understanding is that reflections do not concern only historical events but also the present life being experienced. When a believer reflects and meditates on Words of God, he or she should consider the relevance to personal experiences and circumstances in life.
What has God entrusted you in this world aside from your life ? To many workers who have selected a career, there are related missions which concern love for God and love for fellowmen. They are not out in the world only to earn a living, to fatten themselves, or to merely satisfy family members with needs and wants. If the current practice is just that followed by knowing issues of the environment here and abroad, such way of life is somewhat deplete of “preparing” for the 2nd coming of The Savior. What TREASURES are stored in the Kingdom of God by simply caring for the things of this world in order to live and provide for a family ? Discipleship goes beyond the self and family interests.
John 12:25-26 NKJV
“25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”
Luke 14:26 ESV
English Standard Version
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.”
In other words, every disciple or follower of Jesus Christ, or believer of God MUST find the predestined Way of Life which stores treasures in heaven. Another way of saying this is strive to find roles or any role in building God’s Kingdom with your life. Part 19 will disclose examples of what it means aside from merely sharing Words of God. Examine yourself in the meantime and ask: “How am I a disciple of The Savior ?”
