Part 7 – The Hidden Power of Jesus as Son of God

Part 7 – What It Means To Prepare for the 2nd Coming of Our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ

Would you like to know a secret ?

While the Son of God was walking with Man on Earth, no one except perhaps close family members like mother Mary, Elizabeth, and John knew who Jesus was. A God-Man could have acted obviously Almighty before people nearby. But he did not. Instead, he gave hints. The most “fantastic hint” I can remember at this time is when he said:

Matthew 26:53 The Complete Jewish Bible version(CJB) “Don’t you know that I can ask my Father, and he will instantly provide more than a dozen armies of angels to help me?”

During the time of Augustus of the Roman Empire, an army consisted of 250,000 men. And so Jesus was hinting at having at least 3,000,000 angels who could easily wipe out the government back then. Instead Jesus mingled with fellowmen to describe to Man the kingdom of God, His Kingdom which includes the entire Universe. And then He thanked His Father for a brilliant Wisdom to enable only the chosen people of God to “see” and know about it.

Matthew 11:25-27 NKJV ““I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

To better understand this secret, read the context in Matthew 11. It is too long to include here.

Preparing for the 2nd Coming of our Lord is like anticipating the glorious moment in time. But unbelievers cannot comprehend what that means, while those who believe and obey the Will of God (by knowing God more and more each day and by practicing His teachings each day) will easily grasp it as though it is more valuable than all the wealth in this world.

Matthew 13:44 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”
